Third Annual Jim Cormier Canal Walk

About Fighting Pulmonary Fibrosis

The family and friends of Jim Cormier are excited to announce the 3rd Annual Jim Cormier Canal Walk for Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Our purpose is to raise money for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, which promotes awareness of the disease, supports research for therapies and a cure, and most importantly assists people affected by pulmonary fibrosis and their families.

This will be our third annual event and we are extremely excited, so please join us by following the registration link in the navigation bar above.

About Jim Cormier

Jim Cormier gave a lot of love to this world. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend to many people. He had a life-long love of cooking and Julia Child. He had a long career in computer technology with DEC and IBM and as an adjunct professor in The MET College of Boston University.

After retiring from IBM, he focused on his passion for teaching in Business Management at BU. He loved leading his students through courses such as project management professional (PMP!) preparation. In 2010, Jim was diagnosed with and passed away from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis for which there is no cure.

Jim loved long morning walks around his neighborhood, about 3 to 5 miles a day. The Cormier family and friends could think of no better way to honor Jim than by having a walk along the Cape Cod Canal. Funds raised from this walk will be donated to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation to help find a cure and assist those afflicted by the disease.
